VALLEY FORGE, PA - On Saturday, December 28 the Veritas Christian Academy Lady Lions basketball team defeated Conventry Christian Academy 68-35 in the finals to claim the Valley Forge University, Christmas tournament championship.  It was the Lady Lions ninth straight different tournament title dating back to March 2018. 

At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Lions lead 16-14. They opened up their lead to go into half up 31-21. In the second half, the Lady Lions blitzed Conventry in the third quarter by outscoring them 20-10 and taking a comfortable lead into the fourth quarter to close out the win.

Senior Chloe Milanesi lead the way with a triple double by scoring 28 points on six of 10 three pointers, grabbing 10 rebounds and 13 steals to earn MVP honors. Sophomore Charlotte Milanesi contributed 12 points and six assists to receive tournament all-stars. Sophomore Mackenzie Meyers added nine points and senior Amy Van Grouw contributed six points in the win. 

The Veritas Lady Lions with a record of 11-1, will resume their non conference schedule by hosting Canaan Christian Academy from Pennsylvania on Friday, January 3 at home.
