NEW JERSEY -- Luis Robles, Captain & Goal Keeper of the New York Red Bulls soccer team based in Harrison, NJ, appeared on One-on-One with Steve Adubato to discuss inspiring kids both on and off the field and his role in raising awareness for pediatric cancer research.

The entire Red Bulls organization has an ongoing partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health in order to both build awareness and create special, memorable experiences for patients. Robles spoke of the commitment the Red Bulls organization has to give back to the community.

“One of the things that’s incredible about our organization is that we just don’t talk about being in the community,” said Robles. “We actually do it.”

Robles holds the record in Major League Soccer for most consecutive regular-season starts and was a critical player on the Supporter Shield-winning Red Bulls teams in 2013, 2015 and 2018.

“Last year we had this really cool initiative where patients of the hospital came to the training facility, they designed shoes, and we had a shoe artist put their graphics on the shoes,” Robles said. Those patients later came to a game where they were presented with the shoes they designed.

“Things like that really permeate throughout the organization and it’s ingrained in the culture,” Robles added.
