SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Springfield Rotary’s annual Taste of the Towns fund raising event is scheduled for Monday April 23 at the Hilton Garden Inn Springfield.  The event starts at 6:00 p.m. and continues until 9:00 p.m.  Tickets are $40 and you must be at least 21 years old to attend.

The event features food from area restaurants, wine tasting, gift baskets and live auction items.  Last year, the event was a big success easily exceeding the prior year's turnout.  For instance, Tricky Trays reached a count of 75 and there were lots live auction items.

On Thursday, the library holds an artist reception for Daniella Yovel.

From the library’s website:  The library will “The Secret Life of Things,” a collection of illustrations by Springfield artist Daniella Yovel, will be on display in the Donald B. Palmer Museum of the Springfield Free Public Library from April 9 through May 3, 2018.

As described by Ms. Yovel, these pencil drawings “take a playful dip into the artist’s interpretation of the paranormal and explore the idea of worlds existing beyond our common perception. Ethereal and light, the images walk the line between the beautiful and the bizarre and have a fairy-tale like quality. Infused with simplicity and subtle humor, the odd women in the drawings hold sweet secrets which they will never reveal.”

Members of the public will have the opportunity to meet the artist at a reception to be held in the Palmer Museum from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26.
