Blues Great Chuck Lambert to play at Westfield Memorial Library

On Saturday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m., the Westfield Memorial Library will present blues great Chuck Lambert and his musicians. The library is located at 550 East Broad Street.

Guitarist and vocalist Chuck Lambert, drummer Jay Battle and bass player Coo Moe Jhee represent a commitment to expanding the range and scope of the Blues. This performance will incorporate the vitality and innovation of modern electric blues with the soul and depth of its traditional forms.

Lambert has played for such legends as John Lee Hooker, J.B. Hutto and Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Most recently his band has been playing and singing the blues for crowds up and down the Jersey shore, Philadelphia, and NYC, and they have performed in venues as diverse as NJ PAC, the Count Basie Theatre and SOPAC, Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival in downtown Westfield, the Red Bank Jazz and Blues Festival, and at the Hanson Park Conservancy in Cranford.
