Bowling: Individual Bests by Baxi and Demers Lead Dayton to 5-2 Victory over Oratory Prep and Contribute to Nine Winning Seasons in a Row

LINDEN, NJ – Dayton faced Oratory Prep Friday afternoon and came away with a 5-2 victory.  The win put the Bulldogs’ season record at 9-4 giving them their ninth consecutive winning season since the team was founded.  Coach Fabiano has coached all nine seasons.

For the match, Dayton scored 2,802 or 934 for each team game and 187 a game by each bowler.  Oratory Prep rolled 2,404 for the entire match, 801 by the team for each game and 160 a game by each bowler.

First year bowlers senior Ansh Baxi and sophomore Christopher Demers bowled well above their season averages on the way to victory for the Bulldogs.   Baxi bowled a three game total of 611, the highest of any Dayton bowler.  His high game was 247.

Demers rolled 542, which equals 181 a game.  This was 95 pins better than his second best set this season.

Dayton seniors Evan Weinberg , Scott Maran and Sean Martin all bowled close to, or a bit below their season averages.

Dayton also had a match scheduled against St. Mary of Elizabeth Wednesday.  Due to a no show, Dayton won the match.   The team had an aggregate score of 2,297 in a game without Evan Weinberg.   The two high Dayton bowlers were Baxi with 599 and Martin with 569.

Senior Evan Weinberg competes in the Individual Tournament of Champions on February 14.
