OAKLAND, NJ – The NJSIAA Group 1 Tournament semifinal at Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ took place on a cold November night.  It was a defensive struggle between the two entries from the North.  The Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs lost to Pompton Lakes 2-0 in a game that was scoreless until the last eleven minutes of the game.

The first Cardinals’ goal came from Nate Tucker, a defender.  The other goal was scored in the last two minutes of the game by Yianni Ekonomides.

The Bulldogs had seven shots on goal and the Cardinals had 14 shots on goal.  Dayton’s senior Will Hodic stopped all but two.  Pompton Lake’s goalie Jason Dubrovich recorded his fifth straight shut-out during the tournament.  Pompton Lakes has yet to allow a goal in the NJSIAA Tournaments.

Pompton Lakes faces Glassboro High School in the NJSIAA Group 1 finals at Kean University Sunday.

Dayton’s record at the end of the season was 18-4-1, which is an improvement on last season's record of 16-8-1.
