SPRINGFIELD, NJ - In an effort to raise public awareness of the role Union County played in the War for Independence, new signage was installed at the Deserted Village in Watchung Reservation.

A press release from Sebastian D’Elia, Communications Director for Union County stated that Freeholder Chairman Bruce Bergen was joined by officials from the Crossroads of the American Revolution to mark the unveiling of the first signage telling residents of the County’s role in American History.

As stated in the press release, “Union County is part of the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area, established by Congress in 2006, and one of the National Park Service’s National Heritage Areas that seek to tell the Nation’s History.”
