ELIZABETH, NJ - With the NJSIAA State Tournament seeding meeting taking place on Thursday, the Dayton baseball team continued to make its case on Tuesday.

Jack Conway and Jack Pereira each had a two-run double apiece to lead Dayton to a solid 10-0 five-inning victory over St. Mary (Eliz.) in Elizabeth.

Ben Morley had a two-run single and Vinny Pulice posted an RBI single with a run scored for Dayton (14-4), which has won two straight and six of its last seven games.

Dayton scored at least a run in the first five innings of the game, highlighted by a three-run first inning, to secure the win.

Anthony Santucci had three strikeouts over two innings to get the win and Ryan Lashuk pitched two scoreless innings, striking out three, to pick up the save.

A full day is set for Thursday, as the Bulldogs play its final regular-season game, hosting Rahway at historic Ruby Field with first pitch slated for 4 p.m.  Earlier that morning down in Robbinsville, the news will become official as Dayton will be the top seed in the upcoming NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 state tournament.
