Scotch Plains-Fanwood, NJ – The eleventh seeded Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs faced the sixth seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders in the first round of the Union County Tournament Saturday and lost 3-0 Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders played a strong defensive game and allowed the Bulldogs only two shots on goal.  Dayton’s goalie, Will Hodic, stopped ten shots.

The Raiders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and added a third goal in the second half.

Zidan Abella led the Raiders with two goals.  The team’s other goal came from Brogan Quigley.  Assists were made by Alex Ferrara, Michael Ferrara and Quigley.

Dayton’s record is now 8-3-1 and 4-2 in the division.  Their next game is 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Linden High School.

The Raiders play at the third seed Cranford High School on October 14 in a quarterfinal game.
