Dayton Girls Tennis Edges Plainfield 3-2 and goes to 3-1 for Season

PLAINFIELD, NJ – Jonathan Dayton girls tennis team won their third match in a row beating Plainfield High School 3-2 and pushing their record for the season to 3-1. 

Senior Fabiana Suarez, Dayton’s court one, lost her first match of the season to Plainfield’s junior Anastasia Ellington 1-6, 1-6.  On court two, Dayton’s senior Melanie Schickler won her fourth match in a row beating senior Miledy Ortega 6-3, 6-3.  Playing court three for the Bulldogs was sophomore Jordyn Engel and she beat Plainfield's junior Genesis Fuentes 6-0, 6-2. 

Playing first doubles for Dayton were senior Zoe Frei and junior Sheila Flood and they beat J. Huggins and W. Guzman 6-1, 6-0.  Dayton second doubles team junior Elisa Neri and senior Jessica Steir lost a close match to Plainfield’s junior M. Dirati and senior M. Huaccho 6-1, 6-7 (2-7), 10-6.
