UNION, NJ – A two alarm Easter day fire occurred at just after 1:30 p.m. at 26 Farrington Street in the Vauxhall section of Union.

Mutual aid from nearby Maplewood, Springfield and Millburn fire departments was provided.  Union Fire Chief Mike Scanio said the cause of the fire is still unknown.  He said the residents were home at the time of the fire, but they were not injured.  Scanio added that no firefighters were injured.

The residence appears to be a one-family structure and the fire looks to have been towards the back of the home.  Chief Scanio said it appears that the home will be considered uninhabitable.
