Girls Soccer: Jonathan Dayton falls to New Providence in Quarter Finals

SPRINGFIELD, NJ – The season came to a close for the Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs as they lost 6-1 to the No. 14 New Providence Pioneers in the quarter final game of the NJSIAA North 2, Group 1 Tournament. 

The Pioneers started the game strong by scoring the first two goals.  Dayton battled to keep the ball away from their offense.  When the first half ended New Providence led 3-0.

Continuing off the strong first half New Providence scored two goals in the first five minutes. With two minutes left in the game Samantha Knee scored an unassisted goal for the Bulldogs.  New Providence had 14 shots on goal and Jonathan Dayton had two shots on goal.

No. 14 New Providence is at No. 2 Glen Ridge on November 8 in a semifinal game.  The winner will play the winner of the No. 1 Whippany Park and No. 4 Belvidere game on November 11.
