Hockey: Dayton-Brearely-Union Lose on Road to Tough Frisch Team

PARAMUS, NJ – The Bulldogs traveled to Paramus to face the 4-0-1 Frisch Cougars and lost 8-3.

JT Bokoske got the first goal of the game and gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead on an assist by Victor Velazquez. 

Frisch responded with a goal from Jake Lasher on an assist by Jake Fromen,  The Cougars took the lead for good on a goal by Fromen with an assist by Benjamin Feintuch and ended with first period with a 2-1 lead.

In the second period, the Cougars’ Joseph Tropp opened the scoring and was assisted by Fromen and Jake Zackai.  The Bulldogs narrowed the lead to 3-2 on a goal by Velazquez on an assist by Gary Mignone.

Frisch scored five goals in a row with two coming in the second period and three coming in the third period.

The Bulldogs scored the final goal of the game.  Daniel Dorokhin scored it with six minutes and 50 left on an assist by Velazquez.

For the game, the Bulldogs had 11 shots on goal and three made it past the Cougars’ goalie Charlie Frelich. 

The Bulldogs’ goalie Nick Facchini faced 37 shots and stopped 29.

The loss brings the Bulldogs’ season record to 2-5-1.

Next up for the Bulldogs is Newark East Side.  It is a 3:15 p.m. game Thursday at the Prudential Center.
