SUMMIT, NJ - The ongoing Springfield Avenue Improvement Project, the contract for which was awarded by the Summit Common Council in mid-May, will see a detour adjustment resulting in the closure of Springfield Avenue -- between Summit Avenue and Broad Street --  from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning August 8.

Local access only will be granted, with the new closure plan currently scheduled through August 13.

The project, at a price tag of $808,341.50, involves construction of a pedestrian walkway adjacent to the Springfield Avenue overpass similar to a previously completed walkway project adjacent to the Passaic Avenue overpass.

TAPinto Summit will provide additional information / updates relative to project-related detours and closures when made available.
