SPRINGFIELD, NJ - During a week, when many outdoor competitions were canceled, Jonathan Dayton faced Roselle Park in its first track meet of the year and came away with a 63-54 win.

Coach Matt VanDeursen said, "It was a very good meet from our young group, and our seniors stepped up to do well in their events."

There were some great performances and the coach highlighted seniors Mark Gragg, winner in the 400; Justin Ehly, a winner in the long jump and triple jump; and Kyle DeJohn, a winner in the two mile.

Not all were able to participate according to the coach, "We held out a few of our top boys due to injury concerns.  They're healthy, but aren't ready to race just yet."

He ended saying, "Our freshmen boys have been coming along very nicely.  It could be one of the best freshmen classes we've ever had, and our distance runners have been progressing very well this early in the season."

The next meet is 4 p.m. Wednesday April 12 at home against Oratory Prep.
