SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Compared to Monday, Jonathan Dayton’s golf team was three strokes better Tuesday for a combined 183.  Still, they fell to North Jersey, Section 2 – Group 3 Scotch Plains-Fanwood 183-158.

All six of Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s golfers shot better than bogey golf at Shackamaxon Country Club.  Their top four scores were 39, 39, 40 and 40.  The results suggested a ‘home course advantage’ and some very good golf.

Senior Daniel Griess shot a 41, the low score for Dayton.  He was followed by senior Adam Berkowitz with a 44, junior Scott Maran with a 48 and Jake Zeiman with a 50.  Senior Connor Mahoney shot a 51.

For Scotch Plains-Fanwood, juniors Louis Daniele and Sam Colao each show 39.  Junior Jared Bloom and Sophomore Miguel Fontora each shot 40, while sophomore Jimmy Bagdonas and senior Jimmy Harcourt each shot 41. 

Dayton returns to Shackamaxon to play Union Catholic Wednesday at 5 p.m.
