SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Jonathan Dayton’s golf team played its third match in three days and its second match in two days at Shackamaxon Country Club.  Like Tuesday, the team’s combined score was lower than the previous day.  Unlike Tuesday, Dayton came away with a win beating Union Catholic 176-182.

Senior Adam Berkowitz led the team with a low score of 40.  He was four strokes better than Tuesday.  Junior Scott Maran was five strokes better shooting a 43.  Senior Daniel Griess shot a 44.  Seniors Connor Mahoney and Jake Zeiman both shot a 49.

The Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs golf team is 2-1 on the season.

Union Catholic was led by seniors Daniel Hopkins with a 40 and Claire O’Brien with a 44.  Junior Daniel Shapiro shot a 46, while junior Nick Giuditta and freshman Christopher Buerle both shot 52.  Union Catholic is 1-1.

Dayton returns to Baltusrol Golf Club to play its first Central Jersey – Group 1 rival, David Brearley High School, Monday at 3:15 p.m.  On Wednesday, the Bulldogs play Union High School at Galloping Hill.
