SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Almost 20% of the awards given at Senior Awards night were memorial awards meant to award a student for specific endeavors at Jonathan Dayton High School while also helping keep the spirit of an individual alive. Memorial Awards and Scholarships and the Recipients
Philip D. and Victoria Torrisi Memorial Scholarships to Joshuah Rousso and Sabrina Sequeira
Candace Schianno, Supervisor of Humanities, gave out this long standing award based on service to the school.
The Natalie Waldt Memorial Scholarship was given to Kyle DeJohn
This long standing award was also given by Candace Schianno.
The Jordan Lee Fish Foundation Music Scholarship was given to Shir Kalati
The Jordan Lee Fish Foundation Drama Scholarship was given to Amanda Gabriel
Yeda Fish, mother of Jordan, presented both awards. Her son died 14 years ago when he was 14 years old of leukemia.
The Gene and Louie Del Mauro Kind Heart Scholarships were given to Mary Athan, Shekinah Atkins, Samantha Miller and Victoria Serviss
Fran Corcione presented the awards in memory of people who were local residents and appreciated good deeds done and community service.
The Feintuch Family Scholarship was awarded to Seana Flood
The award was given by Candace Schianno
The Joe Pepe III Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Emma Ares and Nicholas Ulizio
The award in memory of Joe Pepe is given for achievement in basketball. The awards were given by Steve Pepe and Fran Corcione
The newest memorial award is the Daniel R. Triano Scholarship, which was given to Adam Berkowitz
Daniel's parents, Michele and Gary, gave the award in memory of their son who was killed a car accident last year.
