CLARK, NJ – During the Clark Township Council reorganization meeting Sunday, an officer was promoted and two new officers were also sworn-in. One of the new officers is Joshua Weber a 2012 graduate of Jonathan Dayton High School. The new officers took the oath of office from Mayor Sal Bonaccorso.
Upon graduation, Weber entered the United States Marine Corps and continues to serve as a lance corporal in the Marine Corps reserves. He joins the force from the Union County Sheriff’s department, where he served in court security.
The officer promoted was Clark Police officer Miguel Acabou who attained the rank of sergeant at a swearing-in held “Officer Acabou has distinguished himself with having the skills and ability to lead his men,” Chief of Police Pedro Matos said in his introduction of Acabou. “It brings me such pleasure to promote him. He’s done an amazing job for us.”
The other new hire was Michael DeAngelo a lifelong resident of Clark and graduated from the Arthur L. Johnson High School in 2010. After completing his bachelor’s degree from Kean University, DeAngelo worked as a Union County police officer in the patrol division.
