SUMMIT, NJ - Khurram Dara, author of Contracting Fear: Islamic Law in the Middle East and Middle America, will address the topic of Sharia law, what it calls for and what threat, if any, it poses to the U.S. in a talk at Congregation Beth Hatikvah on March 25 beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Dara, an attorney whose views are often sought out by the Op-Ed pages of major newspapers as well as cable news and talk radio programs, will explain how the history and evolution of law in the Middle East has shaped the Islamic faith, the region, and politics in the United States.
Dara's talk is part of Congregation Beth Hatikvah’s 'Life Long Learning' program, a series of interactive learning sessions led by experts in a range of topics from Jewish culture to religious thought and practice to current political, ethical, and social issues. 'Life Long Learning' meets weekly at the Congregation, located at 36 Chatham Road, Summit.
