Knights to Remember from Springfield Knights of Columbus

SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The Springfield Knights of Columbus Council 5560 present lifelong Summit resident Billy MacAdam with a check for $6,000 -- representing funds raised during the Knights of Columbus June charity golf outing -- to benefit the Billy's Good Samaritan Fund, which was established by Summit's Other Fellow First Foundation.

A 16-year member of the Summit Auxiliary Police who rose to the rank of Captain, MacAdam's journey through life has taken some difficult turns, including in December of 2016 when -- while stopping to help what he thought was a stranded motorist -- he was viciously assaulted and suffered multiple serious injuries. His trials and challenges were documented in a TAPinto Summit article, and the Hilltop City community responded. The Other Fellow First Foundation set up a GoFundMe page, and donations -- including the Knights of Columbus golf outing contribution -- exceeded $26,000.

MacAdam thanked the community in a Letter to the Editor published on TAPinto Summit in late June.
