SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Ashton Applewhite, a celebrated speaker, author and TED 2017 participant, will speak on May 20 at the Springfield Free Public Library about her book, This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism.

Applewhite is a leading spokesperson for a movement to mobilize against discrimination on the basis of age. In 2016, she joined PBS' Next Avenue annual list of 50 Influencers in Aging as its Infuencer of the Year. She has been recognized by The New York Times, National Public Radio and the American Society on Aging as an expert on ageism.

The free event, sponsored by the North-Central New Jersey Chapter of The Transition Network (TTN), runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is required: www.thetransitionnetwork.org/events/2447.
