Man Found Shot In Driveway Dies at Scene, Authorities Say

ELIZABETH, NJ — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting of a city man who was found in his driveway early this morning, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said Sunday.

Elizabeth police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 5th Avenue and Niles Street at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, authorities said, when they found the 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound in the driveway of his home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the prosecutor's office.

The incident remains under investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Identification Unit and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Homicide Task Force Sgt. Michael Manochio at 908-966-2287.

The Union County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case, authorities said.
