Many from Springfield in the Cast of the upcoming Performance of ‘The Wiz’ at The Woodland Theater in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Front and Center for Performing Arts presents "The Wiz” at the Woodland Theater in Maplewood, NJ on January 19 through January 21. 

The cast contains over 65 students from neighboring towns (and one little dog) led by Renee Celeste, Julie Lira, Rodney Briscoe, Andrew Morrisey, and Jacque Piro Donovan.  

Eleven members of the cast are from Springfield.  They are Isabella Arevalo-Lis, Eryka Batayola, Caycie Clarke, Emily Dash, Nathalie Neuhaus, Celeste Palermo, Lucas Palermo, Lily Pravda, Josh Silverstein, Sofia Solish, and Reid Weissberg

Renee Celeste, Art Director, said “This timeless story has been told so many times and yet it is always so magical to have the chance to recreate it.  The music is so fantastic and the whole family will love it!”

SHOW DATES & TIMES

  • Friday, January 19 – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 20 - 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, January 21 – 1 p.m.

The Woodland Theater is located at 60 Woodland Road in Maplewood, NJ.

Tickets are $30. Seating is assigned. Tickets can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3202439.  Any remaining seats will be sold at the door before each show.

Music and lyrics for “The Wiz” are by Charlie Smalls, Luther Vandross, and Zachary Walzer and a book by William F. Brown.
