SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Best-selling children's author Jennifer Li Shotz will be reading from her work and greeting the public this Saturday, March 24th at 4 p.m. as part of the James Caldwell Book Fair at Barnes & Noble Springfield.

Shotz is the author of the New York Times bestseller HERO series, which relay the heartwarming adventures of a retired search-and-rescue dog. The latest book in the series, Hero: Rescue Mission, was published  by HarperCollins in October 2017.

Shotz is visiting Springfield as part of the James Caldwell School PTA Barnes & Noble Book Fair. All week long, artwork by the students of James Caldwell School in Springfield has been on display at the store. A portion of the proceeds from sales through the book fair will go to the charitable organization chosen by the school this year. Shoppers should let the Barnes & Noble cashier know at the time of purchase that they would like their purchases to be included as part of Caldwell book fair sales.

This year's chosen charitable organization is Pajama Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that believes “every child, no matter their circumstances, has the inherent right to a loving good night, with the comforting bedtime ritual of changing into new, clean pajamas and enjoying an enchanting story. Pajama Program offers at-risk children the unconditional, magical gifts of new pajamas and new books so that they can enjoy the greatest benefit of a loving bedtime and peaceful good night: a fulfilling good day.”

In addition to donating the book fair proceeds, the JCS PTA also be collecting new, clean, child-size pajamas to Pajama Program. A drop-off bin will be available at Barnes & Noble Springfield.
