At the turn of the 1970’s, he joined POCO and helped steer the band into its pioneering fusion of country, rock and folk with founding member Richie Furay.   In recent interviews, Timothy said “Richie Furay really took me to another level. Richie mentored me. I watched how he worked as a songwriter and a singer and a performer, and I really learned a lot just by being around him. I consider him one of my best friends, on many levels.”

Schmit’s musicianship & vocals have always been in high demand playing with Dan Fogelberg, Steely Dan, Jimmy Buffet, Ringo Starr, Bob Seeger, Boz Scaggs, Richard Marx, and countless others.

At this show, he’ll be performing songs that span his career in addition to his most recent release “Leap of Faith” released in September 2016.

Richie Furay returns to SOPAC as the opening performer after headlining several sold out shows there.  He is founding member of the legendary band, Buffalo Springfield, considered by many to be one of the most influential groups in the history of rock music, which he founded along with Stephen Stills & Neil Young.

After Buffalo Springfield disbanded, Richie co-founded POCO and pioneered their unique sound that was the template for all country-rock music that followed along with renowned musician Jim Messina.

The proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations. This event is supported with sponsorship from Investors Bank. Join your friends and neighbors for an unforgettable night of magical musical entertainment as you experience the music of the Eagles, Poco, Buffalo Springfield, and solo performances from Timothy B. Schmit & Richie Furay.

Tickets can be purchased on the theaters’ website at www.SOPACnow.org.
