May Fridel is author of a recently released cookbook on Indian cooking and last week she held her first week of summer camp at the Knights of Columbus in Springfield.  Children ages six through the teen years were encouraged to enroll and spend four weeks experimenting with food and learning how to cook foods from around the world.

The first week at the Knights of Columbus involved a Chef teaching the students to cook dishes from Tuscany, Asia,, India,  Russia and France.  At the end of the lesson students eat the meal they helped prepare in a family style setting.  The next three weeks of camp will be held at Calvary Church in Summit.
