Planning Board to Require No Variance for Protrusions Up to 18 inches

Monopole Credits: Ellen Dickson

The Planning Board had a full complement of members last night. The application of Springfield Parcel LLC/Brixmore, 697 Morris Turnpike was carried to December 7th. This is the plan to build a Chipotle restaurant.

The ordinance change affecting side yard variances was approved with a slight wording change. “Open or lattice enclosed stairways projecting not more than five feet into a yard and the ordinary projections of decorative stone, chimneys, pilasters, roof overhangs, gutters, downspouts, (and the like) projecting not more than 18 inches and bay windows may be constructed without a variance”.

ATT/Cingular Wireless received a site plan waiver for their 150 foot monopole at 1 Cornell Parkway. They will be replacing existing antennas and adding three more remote radio heads etc. According to a memo from the Director of Engineering Sam Mardini, all of the antennas will be installed at the same height and no ground disturbance is proposed.

The next meeting is scheduled for December 9, 2016.
