SPRINGFIELD, NJ – On Friday, Jonathan Dayton’s varsity bowling team finished second in the New Jersey Section 2,  Group 1 sectional.  Since the top two teams in each group advanced, that finish meant Dayton advanced to the Tournament of Champions February 17 at Carolier Lanes in North Brunswick.

Dayton finished second place with a total three game score was 2,629 or an average of 175.3 per game per bowler.  Roselle Park finished first with a score of 2,787.  The Bulldogs score was 8.3 percent higher than the third place team, was Arthur L Johnson High School with a combined score of 2,427. At the last match Coach Fabiano said it would take a strong performance in the Sectional to make it to the next step and his team delivered.

Junior Evan Weinberg basically bowled his average for the three games.  His total score was 668 points.  That was good enough to place him fourth of all bowlers and qualify him for the State Individual Tournament.   The NJSIAA Boys Individual Finals take place February 15 at Carolier Lanes.
