SPRINGFIELD, NJ - With the 225th-anniversary celebrations coming up this week for the Township of Springfield, TAPinto Springfield would like to provide a schedule rundown for residents convenience. Events will be put on rain or shine, save for fireworks, which will either be on June 22 or the next clear night if rained out.

SATURDAY, JUNE 22;

  • 10:00 a.m. -Reenactor camps open to the public (located at the rear of the high school)
  • 10:45 a.m. -Wreath laying ceremony at DAR monument
  • 11:00 a.m. -March to Church Mall
  • 11:15 a.m. -Wreath laying ceremony at Presbyterian Church
  • 1:00 p.m. -Demonstrations at the camp
  • 2:00 p.m. -Pre-battle formation
  • 2:30 p.m. -March to battle
  • 3:00 p.m. -Battle of Springfield (first day)
  • 4:00 p.m -Battle ends
  • 4:30 p.m. -Camps close to public, celebrations start at Meisel Field
  • 5:30 p.m. to dusk -Rides, petting zoo, food
  • 7:00 p.m. -1910 Fruitgum Company performs
  • Dusk -Fireworks

SUNDAY, JUNE 23;

  • 10:00 a.m. -Camps open to public
  • 10:00 a.m. -Eighteenth Century Church Service
  • 12:00 p.m. -Pre-battle formation
  • 12:30 p.m. -March to battle
  • 1:00 p.m. -Battle of Springfield (second day)
  • 2:00 p.m. -battle ends
  • 3:00 p.m. -Camps close to public
