Significant Storm Headed our Way

SPRINGFIELD, NJ  - According to the National Weather Service, weather conditions will go downhill in our area beginning Thursday afternoon.  The peak for this upcoming rainstorm is expected on Friday.

Rain is expected to begin late afternoon on Thursday.  A Flood Watch is currently in effect from 6:00 a.m. Friday until 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

The intensity of the wind and rain is expected to pick up early Friday morning with a Wind Advisory currently in effect from 11:00 a.m. Friday until 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

A deepening coastal low late Thursday night into Friday will bring heavy rain across the area, with the potential for 1 to 2 inches of rainfall tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, smaller rivers and streams across the area will be most vulnerable to the possibility of flooding.

The National Weather Service says damaging winds will be capable of downing trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Limited visibilities will make travel difficult.
