SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Springfield and surrounding towns have another option for casual eating, catering and take out. It is the Silver Pearl Cafe owned by Christian Santa Cruz of Elizabeth.  He opened this charming, homey restaurant on November 17.

The cafe's offering includes sandwiches, pastries and coffee seven days a week. Hours are Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Located at Echo Plaza next to Stew Leonard's Wines, the store is still ramping up all of the offerings.  Still, Christian stated that despite very little advertising “business has been better than expected”. He is hoping to have an official ribbon cutting later in the year.
