SUMMIT, NJ – The Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs lost 3-2 to the Kent Place Dragons Monday.  It was their fourth loss in a row and second in a row came as a nail biter.  They lost by one run in the bottom of the last inning. 

Dayton took the lead in the top of the third scoring a run with the bases loaded on a bunt by Victoria Delia.  Kent Place came back with two runs in the bottom of the third on some well placed hits.

 Junior Holly Wilson tied the game in the fifth inning with a solo home run to the gap between the right fielder and center fielder.  Kent Place scored the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Arianna DeMartino pitched another strong game.  She allowed one earned run on 12 hits.  She faced 31 batters, struck out three and of the 97 pitches she threw, 68 were strikes.

Kent Place’s pitcher Morgan Moran pitched all seven innings and allowed one earned run on nine hits.  She struck out two and walked one.

Holly Wilson was perfect at the plate.  She was four of four including the home run.  The other five Dayton hits were singles.  Those hitting a single included Maggie Phillips, Marinna Kwinta, Angelina Cacioppo who also got the only walk of the game, Victoria Delia and Karly Fitzpatrick.

Dayton is now 8-6 and plays at Scotch Plains-Fanwood today.  They return home for back to back games Thursday and Friday against Bloomfield and Union.
