SUMMIT, NJ - Summit Community Programs, Summit FMBA, the Summit Fire Department and TryCAN will be hosting its 8th annual baseball night, held to help us celebrate another successful season of recreational activities for our youth with special needs.  The kids and their families will enjoy a fun evening of tailgating (light refreshments) followed by a fun game against the firefighters where our kids will be defending their perfect record.

Baseball Night is Friday June 16 at Jefferson School Field in Summit (110 Ashwood Avenue) with the tailgate at 6:30 pm and the game starting at 7:15 pm.

The event is free to all (Summit residents or nonresidents) RSVP is needed at summitcan@gmail.com. We still have a few spots on our team left, so please reserve a spot for your child on the team if he or she is interested.  No baseball experience is needed; just a desire for your child to try something new. Plenty of teen and adult volunteers will be there to help each child have fun and play at her or his own level. Team members will receive a trophy and event souvenir. Even if you don't have a child playing, we would love to see you there cheering the kids on or just to say Hello.

Thanks as well to Summit Junior Baseball, Summit Elks, Target, Somerset Patriots Baseball, and Red Mango for generous support for this event. To RSVP or for questions, please contact summitcan@gmail.com . TryCAN, a nonprofit collaboration of communities, offers recreation programs for youth with special needs or those who need certain accommodation to participate more successfully.
