SPRINGFIELD, NJ—- At Monday’s Springfield Board of Education meeting, the board made a number of personnel appointments.  Among them was the naming of Adriana Coppola as the new principal of the Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center.

Coppola was a teacher and director of early childhood education in the Hoboken Public Schools. She became a principal in that district, but returned to teaching while pursuing studies for her doctorate.

She replaces Susie Hong, who was named principal of Westfield’s Jefferson Elementary School in May.

The board is scheduled to meet on Monday, August 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Jonathan Dayton High School Media Center. This is a change from the regular meeting date for August.
