SPRINGFIELD, NJ - As the playoffs stretch on, the mentality for the Jonathan Dayton Boys Soccer team is now survive and advance.
Friday afternoon against Whippany Park, they found a way to do just that. Hunter Gollin scored in the 15th minute to propel the Bulldogs to a 1-0 win.
After the game, Gollin broke down what he saw on his successful header play that scored the only goal of the contest.
"I saw we were attacking the whole first half," Gollin said. "We had great intensity. Our forwards got some shots off [and] just couldn't finish. So I figured when we had the set piece, this is my opportunity that I could help our offense as well. And once I saw that ball in the air, I knew I could get a head to it."
Dayton will play their next game on the road against Glen Ridge, who defeated Hoboken yesterday.. The game will begin at 2:00 p.m.
