Springfield Calendar for Week of January 29: Expanded Recycling Saturday & NJPAC’s Books on the Move Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, NJ – On Saturday, Springfield Township offers expanded recycling at the Municipal Pool from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Drop-off for electronics (monitors, TVs, computers, cell phones), metals (appliances, grills, stoves, fencing), and vegetative Yard Waste (leaves, grass, branches). The DPW will assist residents place the items in dumpsters and proof of Springfield residency/ID is required.  No commercial enterprises are allowed.

On Sunday at the Springfield Free Public Library, join NJPAC Teaching Artist Wincey Terry in a reading of Firebird by Misty Copeland.  She made history as the first African-American Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre. 

Young listeners will role-play parts of the book, recite affirmations and participate in an arts and crafts activity. Refreshments will be served. 25 families will receive a free copy of the book.  Register on the Library’s website.
