Springfield Calendar for Week of May 28: Memorial Day, Baseball’s Senior Night & JDHS Spring Sports Awards

SPRINGFIELD, NJ – On Memorial Day, Monday May 28, Springfield will have its annual Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans Park followed by a parade.  The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp.

The Hometown Heroes will be introduced.  There will also be a sing along led by Catie Hodic starting with the National Anthem and all children can come up to the stage and sing “You’re a Grand Ole Flag” for the veterans.

A parade will immediately follow the ceremony.  It will go from Veterans Park down Mountain Avenue to Jonathan Dayton High School.  Marchers will include members of Dayton's soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball teams as well as members of Springfield's Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, First Aid Squad, Auxiliary Police, Cert Team and more.

Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in Somerset NJ at TD Bank Ballpark, the Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs baseball team will take the field against the New Providence Pioneers.  It is their Senior Night Game.

Thursday evening, the Spring Sports Award Ceremony will be held at Jonathan Dayton High School.
