NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — The winning feeling from Saturday for the Dayton girls basketball team was short-lived.
Junior Lindsay Kinum scored 12 points with six rebounds and junior Amy Maurer, along with freshmen Meghan Lamanna and Grace Kelly each added nine points apiece to power rival New Providence to a 54-26 victory over Dayton in New Providence on Tuesday.
New Providence (14-0) led 25-12 at halftime.
Junior Aiyona Wood scored seven points, freshman Samantha Casey added six and senior Michelle Bellino and sophomore Gabriella Palermo each posted four points apice to pace Dayton (3-7), which has lost four of its last five games.
The Bulldogs, currently 1-5 in the Union County Conference-Valley Division, hosts divisional leader Elizabeth on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and starts next week with a home contest versus Plainfield Tuesday, also at 5:30 p.m.
