TOMS RIVER, NJ — It was a cold and windy Friday night as the first place Jonathan Dayton High School Bulldogs (10-2) varsity ice hockey team took a road trip down the shore for a matchup against the Lacey High School Lions in Toms River.

But the Dayton offense was scorching hot like a summer beach day as junior left wing Gary Mignone continued his remarkable season by tallying four goals and two assists to help lead the Bulldogs to a 7-1 victory.

After a scoreless first period, Mignone exploded for three goals in a row to put the Bulldogs in front 3-0. Lacey cut the lead to 3-1, but the Bulldogs quickly responded with goals by senior captain Joe Triano, senior center Victor Velazquez, senior forward Lucas Minio and another goal by Mignone.
