SPRINGFIELD, NJ - the Springfield Free Public Library is gearing up to showcase some of the more unique parts of the Donald B. Palmer collection, and this upcoming Sunday, a new exhibit and opening reception will do just that. 

November 24, from 2:00 p.m to 3:45 p.m. The exhibit, “Far From Springfield: Items in the Donald B. Palmer Collection from Around the World,” will have its opening reception.

According to the Springfield Public Library, the exhibit feature a diverse selection of items that were collected by Donald Palmer over the course of his life, from England, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Spain.

As the exhibit description noted, while most of the recent exhibits in the Palmer Museum have focused more on local history, “Far From Springfield" will offer a look at some of the more unique and unusual items that make up a large portion of the collection that Mr. Palmer left to the Springfield Free Public Library when he passed.

This exhibit is made possible in part by a History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands (HEART) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
