Projects funded by the Lions Club Foundation include serving the blind, sight preservation projects and hearing related projects.  There are also projects related to supporting those in need in Springfield, scholarships and helping out other charitable endeavors in the community.  All funds given to the Lions Club of Springfield go to the Foundation.  Expenses incurred by the Club are funded through membership dues.

Participants were able to taste some of more than 50 wines from around the world.  Wines provided were from California, Italy, Spain, Israel and Canada.  The wines tasted could also be bought.  The tasting also included a buffet dinner with both high and cold selections. The event started at 7:00 p.m. and was scheduled to go to 9:30 p.m.
