Springfield Memorial Day Parade: Keeping the Tradition Alive

SPRINGFIELD, NJ - On Memorial Day, Monday May 29, the Township of Springfield will celebrate Memorial Day with its annual parade. Brigadier General Edward Chrystal, Deputy Adjunct General is the Grand Marshall. 

The parade starts at Veteran’s Park at 10 a.m. and marches to Jonathan Dayton High School. Students and all citizens are encouraged to help honor our Veterans in singing “You’re a Grand Old Flag”. The Kean University Trolley will be there and the Springfield Hillside Elks Lodge will host a picnic with hot dogs and drinks.

A baseball exhibition game starts at 11 a.m. on the turf field at Jonathan Dayton High School.  Parade Coordinator Committeewoman Geri Bujnowski said she hopes "...the day is like when we were kids."

In the event of rain, the event will move to Chisholm Community Center for the ceremony.  The start time remains 10:00 a.m.
