SPRINGFIELD, NJ — As a result of lingering power outages from Tropical Storm Isaias this past Tuesday, and the high temperatures expected this week, the Chisholm Community Center will be converted into a cooling center today and tomorrow.

On both Monday, Aug. 10, and Tuesday, Aug. 11, the cooling center will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents are asked by the township to please bring their own charging cords if they plan to charge their devices while at the cooling center, as none will be made available on-site.

In addition, as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, residents are also asked to wear a face covering, physically distance themselves from others, and be considerate of the time spent cooling and charging as other residents may be waiting.

Any questions about the program can be directed to the Springfield Recreation Department by calling (973) 912-2227 or emailing them at the following address: recreation@springfield-nj.us
