SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Springfield children and parents couldn’t have wished for a better Halloween on Monday. The weather was perfect for an early evening stroll around the neighborhood.

Children were decked out in all sorts of costumes walking with friends and parents in tow. Neighbors chatted on the sidewalks as if it was a community party.

As always and in years past, the Springfield Police had a visible increase of cars out patrolling our neighborhoods during Halloween.

Springfield police officers pulled over their cars and stepped out of their vehicles. They were welcomed by the children especially when they were handing out glow sticks for safety as the sun went down.

“Our primary concern during Halloween is that our kids have a safe and fun time,” Springfield Chief of Police, John Cook said. “Our additional patrols were to deter any potential incidents from occurring.”

It was a spook-tacular Halloween this year.
