SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The following is the police department blotter for the first half of the month of June:
June 1 – Officers were detailed to the intersection of Morris Avenue and Caldwell Place on a report of a driver asleep at the wheel in the roadway. The driver, a 36-year-old Clifton woman, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
June 5 – Officers responded to a Morris Avenue business on a report of suspicious activity. An on-scene investigation resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old Irvington man for failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. The second suspect, a 35-year-old woman, also from Irvington, was arrested and charged with possession of a hypodermic needle.
June 7 – A 29-year-old Union woman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Morris Avenue.
June 13 – Detective Bureau personnel arrested and charged a 28-year-old Elizabeth man with theft. The arrest was the culmination of a follow-up investigation of theft from a Route 22 business reported on June 4, 2019.
Officers made additional arrests on outstanding warrants out of Madison, Roselle, Denville, Garwood and Springfield.
