SPRINGFIELD, NJ — In an update yesterday afternoon, Mayor Chris Capodice announced of a couple new cases of COVID-19 in Springfield residents.
The three new reported cases of COVID-19 have resulted in a cumulative total of 276 positive tests and 22 deaths since the start of the pandemic. This is the first reported increase in cases since August fifth.
Overall, Union County has 22 new cases of COVID-19, totaling 13,781 positive tests and 1,190 deaths. The State of New Jersey currently has a total of 197,792 positive tests and 14,263 COVID-19 related deaths.
In his announcement, Capodice urged caution and good safety practice.
Our continued vigilance is critical to ensure we do not have an influx of infected persons," he said. "Masks are still a vital part of our daily routine. We must continue to take every precaution we can to ensure that we are all protected. If you are experiencing symptoms, please self-quarantine until such time as you can be tested and are cleared by a medical professional."
