SPRINGFIELD, NJ - In celebration of pride month, Springfield will celebrate its first annual Pride activity this Wednesday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m.
The event will be held at the Chisholm Community Center, located at 100 Mountain Avenue. The Springfield Township committee will raise an LGBTQ flag outside the community center, as well as read a proclamation identifying June as Pride Month in Springfield.
Additionally, the committee will designate the Springfield Recreation Department as a GLSEN Safe Space. Afterwards, residents in town will work to chalk the front parking lot in rainbow colors for the purpose of promoting LGBTQ pride and inclusion.
Residents of all ages are welcome to participate. Support for the event is being provided by the County of Union, New Jersey Office of LGBTQ Affairs and the Jonathan Dayton High School Gay-Straight Alliance.
