SPRINGFIELD, NJ – On Monday, Springfield residents can view the total solar eclipse at the Community Pool.  Glasses for viewing the eclipse can be picked up at Town Hall between 1 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. with a limit of one pair per family.  Special speakers will be at the event.  They are Dr. Liesl Jones, Dean of STEM at Union County College, and Alison Gillen, a Science Teacher at Gaudineer School.

On Sunday August 29, the Community Pool will host its end of summer Luau Party.  Luau sand art starts at 11:30 a.m. with many other activities following through 4:00 p.m.

From website - Looking for something different to feed your kids for breakfast when they go back to school this fall? Charu Jhalani returns to the Springfield Free Public Library at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, August 23, to demonstrate how to prepare paneer chilla, a pancake made with green split lentils, garlic, ginger and chilies that is then stuffed with crumbled paneer cheese.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to sample the dish at the conclusion of the demonstration and are asked to be mindful of any food allergies or sensitivities that they might have before consuming any of the food offered.
