SPRINGFIELD, NJ - “Clean Communities Day” is on Sunday, April 23  from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.. The Commission said volunteers are still needed to clean up the various parks in Springfield. The Department of Public Works will drop off supplies such as trash bags, gloves and pickers for use by the volunteers. If you want to volunteer just show up.

"Come and join us even if you can only come for an hour," Alyson Miller, Springfield Environmental Commission Chairwoman said. "It's a great way to help your community and it's fun for the whole family. Community service feels good."

This is an annual event.  This year it is done the day after Earth Day, which always falls on April 22 and marks the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.
Come on out with your families and friends and have fun while you "Help Clean the Parks".
